Blogging

blogging... i wonder what it means... i read it somewhere, just can't remember where... anyway, so what? everyone uses it nowadays, so why ask?

why? because i'm like that... i'm curious about words that sound unusual and i wonder where it originated... just like names... whenever i meet people with unique names, i have a tendency to ask where their parents got them... and you get interesting answers... like, it's the combination of the dad's and mom's first names... or, it's the combination of the parents' last names... or, they got one name from the baby book and the other name from their favorite star... things like that...

or, like what my husband did when we got married... he took the first letters of all my names (maiden) and added his at the end, and came up with what we are going to call our first baby girl... if we ever have one, that is... but it's always fun to think up new things...

and talking about babies... have you ever wondered why, a lot of times, couples who really want to have children, can't... and couples who don't want any or choose to wait, find themselves with child? God has his own plan and we should not question His timing... but I just wish we could have one... even if it is only one, I'll be happy...

so... what was the topic of this post? oh, yeah, blogging... sort of like an online journal... anything and everything under the sun is accepted... here's the dictionary definition: A frequent, chronological publication of personal thoughts and weblinks... well, that's about sums it up...

Rain

Do you know what I like most about Bukidnon? The rain. You can smell it a mile away and when it gets here, it's as cleansing and as fresh as it smells! How can you smell rain, you ask? Simple. Just face the wind head-on and take a deep breath. If you can't smell its sweet and clear fragrance... there's something wrong with your nose. Could be a head cold or sinusitis. Better get it checked. Or, could be you've lived in Manila too long that the smog has clogged your olfactory cells to the max.

Another thing about the rain. Bukidnon is found at the heart of Mindanao, the second largest island in the Philippines. Because of its strategic location, Bukidnon lies JUST OUTSIDE the most extreme typhoon route. Therefore, we do not experience typhoons at all... just rain. Could be really strong wind and large droplets, but not enough to be classified as a typhoon. Cool!

And, last but not least, the best thing about the rain? It falls almost EVERY AFTERNOON. Perfect weather to sleep in, drink hot chocolate in, watch movie marathons in, read a good book in, knit, sew, cross-stitch and what-not in, and generally stay home in. Because that's what matters most, right? Home is where you are most comfortable when it rains.
