Rain

Do you know what I like most about Bukidnon? The rain. You can smell it a mile away and when it gets here, it's as cleansing and as fresh as it smells! How can you smell rain, you ask? Simple. Just face the wind head-on and take a deep breath. If you can't smell its sweet and clear fragrance... there's something wrong with your nose. Could be a head cold or sinusitis. Better get it checked. Or, could be you've lived in Manila too long that the smog has clogged your olfactory cells to the max.

Another thing about the rain. Bukidnon is found at the heart of Mindanao, the second largest island in the Philippines. Because of its strategic location, Bukidnon lies JUST OUTSIDE the most extreme typhoon route. Therefore, we do not experience typhoons at all... just rain. Could be really strong wind and large droplets, but not enough to be classified as a typhoon. Cool!

And, last but not least, the best thing about the rain? It falls almost EVERY AFTERNOON. Perfect weather to sleep in, drink hot chocolate in, watch movie marathons in, read a good book in, knit, sew, cross-stitch and what-not in, and generally stay home in. Because that's what matters most, right? Home is where you are most comfortable when it rains.
